So sorry I have been so slack with updating the blog....no excuses other than tiredness and rubbish planning got in the way...I'm not even sure if anyone out there is following me either so I sometimes feel a bit silly just putting it out there... Anyway I'll keep it brief.. The rest of the LO-carb cycle went without drama. I didn't struggle as much as first attempt on the no fruit although I did miss it and craved a banana yesterday. I managed to stifle my cravings for something sweet with my almonds and cashews that I kept a huge stash of in my bag the whole time!
Here's the food:
B'fast: none (naughty Kate...too late what with meltdown and RJ swimming lesson)
Early lunch of chicken, broccoli and shroom omelette at gym
Dinner: fantastic! Daxs beef curry and cauli rice...AMAZING!
Friday was a day out at Butlins then work so food was sorted and 100% angelic!
B'fast: scrambled egg and Parma ham
Lunch: prawn and avocado salad
Dimmer: leftover curry and cauli rice
Sat was my hi-carb day and the first thing I had was a banana which was flippin' lovely!
B'fast: nectarine and apple with seeds, nuts and yog
Lunch: salmon and colcannon @ gym
Dinner: huge steak with sauté pots, asparagus and leeks and mushrooms. Strawbs and yog for pud.
Back to LO-carb wave sun-Tues...am dreading it but. I think the thought is worse than the reality!
Loving the exercises still..did the pyramid with my OH last night and it was great I knocked 2 mins of my time as I'm so competitive!!!!

Monday-day 6
An up and down day today to be honest.....I started the day with my meditation and meltdown, got to admit I struggled a bit my arms felt fatigued but I got through it and felt much better for it. Rubbish breakfast of a banana and a handful of mixed nuts..had to get RJ to Socatots on time! After Socatots I drove 15 mins out of my way to Sainsburys, spent at least a tenner more than usual and then found out the blummin' petrol deal was finished! On the plus side Sainsburys seem to d the best organic fish selection out of all my local supermarkets so I did get some lovely prawns, salmon and smoked salmon.
Came home to find out my best friends dog had to be put down this morning, he has been poorly for a while but I'm still very upset. I keep looking at my dog and feeling v sad as he doesn't know his best friend has died! All v upsetting so I baked some bran-muffins to soothe the soul and allow me to have a nice little ED-friendly treat.
Had a nightmare getting RJ yo bed tonight so didn't eat until after 9...not good, I still need to do power circuits and it's 10.25! We must try and eat earlier!
food:
B'fast: banana and a few nuts
Snack: apple and a few nuts
Lunch: Parma ham, avocado and rocket salad
Snack: bran muffin
Dinner: cold pork and bubble & squeak. Another bran muffin for pud.
Hopefully tomorrow will be less turbulent..

The weekend-days 4 & 5
Fantastic weekend.....am soooooo loving my exercise again...it feels great to be active and feel those muscles working again.....and boy are they working again!
Yesterday I completed the meltdown, and had a hilarious cardio workout in the garden with RJ "helping" I was bouncing on the trampette and he would come and bounce too, then I would jog round and he would chase me...the 15 minutes went really quickly! I'm also pleased to report that I have increased my original assessments on the ICP. An hour long dentists appt could not wipe the grin from my face!
Food -wise 100% ED:
Brekkie: scrambled egg and smoked salmon
Lunch: prawn and avo salad with a drizzle of olive oil
Dinner: huge steak, home-made chips and lots of curly cale and broccoli
Snacks: fruit & nuts
Fell asleep @ 9.15 in front of True Grit...not a reflection on the film...it seemed very good I was just pooped, then stumbled upstairs at 10.30, lights-out at 11 and then wide awake at 5.10!!! Ended up listening to my hypno-pod casts to try and stop my brain going round and round! Fnally fell asleep again after an hour
When I eventually woke, meditation for an hour, then meltdown in the garden, then a walk with the dog. Then to the gym and my cardio was a lovely 15 min swim followed by a 15 min sauna. Shower and hair appt...how lovely!
Had my mum round for roast pork dinner cooked by my delightful husband! But before tea she timed my IcP...managed to knock 20secs off...v pleased!
Did the Power Circuits tonight with my husband watching to make sure I was banana backing and not stretching my lower back...fi hers crossed all seems ok now!
Food 100% again:
Brekkie: apple and banana
Lunch: Dax orange muffin and some nuts...not enough but was on the run
Tea: roast pork with all the trimmings and strawberries and yog for pud
Off to bed now to try and catch up on sleep...

Friday-day 3 @ the beach...
Spent a lovely day at the beach today with my friend and her 2 sons. She is on a v similar eating plan but for a very different reason... she has ottosclerosis a terrible (incurable) disease that is sadly making her deaf (she's only 37 it is hideous!) the thing she suffers with most though is terrible tinutus & she has just started seeing a Naturapath who has not only given her remedies and supplements galore but also drastically changed her diet. She is on a no wheat/caffein/alcohol diet and has to incorporate lots of extra bits too. To see my friend you would think she wants for nothing, incredibly beautiful with 2 lovely sons & a drop-dead gorgeous husband but the one thing she wants is out of her reach... V sad indeed!
Anyway she made a scrummy lunch for us...a buckwheat spinach salad topped with sardines, tomatoes, cucumber and seeds...yum! I think her seed mix had soya beans which I'm not sure if we can have but I figure if that's the worst thing I do then that ain't bad! I took us both over a Dax muffin which we enjoyed with a cup of rooibosh and In-between showers the boys played on the beach... RJ had a blast whilst we caught up! I must ask her about my substitute exercises actually as she'll be able to help me for sure as she is a PT.
Full mobility matrix this morning..snap crackle and pop went my joints! And then mini mobility matrix and 2 x meltdowns this evening..feels so good to start pushing again and I can't wait to get to the gym tomorrow.
In bed writing this tonight...am pooped and its past 11 so Here's the food:
B'fast: apple, banana, rasbs, yog, seeds and nuts
Lunch: salad
Snack: Dax orange muffin
Tea chilli chicken, wild rice and roasted onions, pepper and tomatoes..no pud as v full!

Thursday-DAY TWO
Today has been a most splendid day...swimming with RJ then lunch at the gym. I did the mobility matrix and then 2 meltdowns in the garden this evening with RJ "helping!".....cuteness personified!
Feels so amazing to be back exercising again although I was a little nervous with the mobility matrix and definitely took it slowly but I'm ok with that...I would rather that then have my pelvis flare up again!
Told the gym today that the Osteo had advised me to cancel my power plates course, they wouldn't give me my money back so I'm getting a PT sesh instead which will be fab! Got that booked in for next week and I can't wait.
My annoying cold is even more annoying...don't feel poorly just have the runniest nose in Hampshire! TMI I know but it is seriously ridiculous! Have been eating sooooo much garlic to try and get rid of it I'll be loosing all my friends before it goes!
Did some more baking today...tried Dax's orange muffins with almond flour and coconut oil substituting his rice flour and olive oil...and they are lush...so moist...will be taking them to my friends house tomorrow who is on a similar eating plan although hers is from a Naturapath for tinutus.
Here's my food for the day:
B'fast: 1/2 cataloupe and raspberries
Lunch: grilled chicken breast and salad at the gym
Dinner: roast pork steak with roasted veg and a yummy muffin with fresh mango for pud
Cam tea, meditate and bed for me!

How lovely to wake up pain-free....my Osteopath really is a miracle worker with magic hands!
Day one of my new summer challenge has been great! Meditation first thing and then back to Pilates...hurrah! A great sesh with my wonderful instructor with lots of short-spinal massage stretches that felt wonderful! Thought that was enough on my first day so tomorrow morning I'll movement matrix and meltdown. Gonna swap the open legs squats for normal squats to keep more stable.
Re-did my measurements and as I want to stand accountable i'll post them again:
Weight: 177.2lb
Chest: 40.5"
Bra-line: 35"
Waist: 34.5"
Hips: 41"
R Thigh, 4": 18"
R Thigh, 8": 22.5"
L Thigh, 4": 19"
L Thigh, 8": 22.5"
R Arm: 12"
L Arm:12"
Will post them again in 2 weeks.... goes without saying I can't wait for them to go down!
Re-read the Elimination Diet booklet and am raring to go once more, I'm still a level 2 although pleased to report I've lost a couple of my yes answers! Still going to try t cut down on starchy veg and rice etc in order to maximise my results.
Food for today:
1/2 cantaloupe melon and my last bran muffin
Snack: couple of handfuls of almonds and cashews
Lunch: 3 scrambled eggs and some Parma ham
Snack: 1/2 punnet cherries and a coup,e of almonds
Dinner: Moroccan turkey patties from the ED cookbook, new pots and salad....yum! My fave Dax recipe yet! No pud as ate too late.
Camomile, meditate and bed!

Monday & Tuesday
Monday was a pretty normal day..nothing to report.
Brekkie: fruit & yog
Lunch: broccoli, mushroom & spring onion omelette with some Parma ham
Dinner: chicken and bubble & squeak' the remainder of the apple cobbler with a bit of yog
Snacks: nuts & fruit
Tuesday....a great day!
Woke early and started my day with a 10min meditation....how amazing is that! Completely set me up for a wonderful day.
Busy morning, messy play with RJ, shopping for more almond flour and then baking some more of Elanas pantry yummy bran muffins...This time I substituted the olive oil with coconut oil and it made them even tastier! Have enjoyed a couple today (one with a cuppa and one for pud tonight).
Then it was my trip to the Osteopath and the great news is she said YES!,!,!,! I can start exercising again so tomorrow is my new day one! Back to the beginning for me and I am v excited (& a little bit nervous). Got to be careful with the exercises and substitute the lunges and spideys for at least a week as my pelvis is so unstable but I'll still be able to do loads of the others...Hoo-bloody-rah!!!
So early to bed ...got to meditate anyway and then I'll start my day with mobility matrix and a meltdown can't wait!

Thursday-Sunday...busy busy busy!
Been super busy over last few days so blog has suffered...I'm sorry to any of you that are still following me...is their anyone there?
Thursday:
Lovely day, swimming with RJ then day out with my mum, aunty, sister and RJ. Lunch at a lovely cafe (fresh Selsey crab salad...yum!) then a visit to an open day at a lavender farm...just beautiful! Had an appalling dinner out with the girls at Jamies Italian..horrendous service..waited an hour for a table, then another hour for the starter! Was still eating my dinner at 11! bloody diabolical!
Friday:
Babysat for a friend of mine then had a lovely lunch (prawn & avocado rocket salad) and a swim at her place! Pork chop and veggies for tea...yum! Oh and made some of Dax's orange muffins...they were ok although not as nice as the bran ones I made earlier in the week. Might try them with almond flour nxt time to lighten them a little.
Sat:
Meditation workshop all day and it was beautiful....learnt some amazingly simple and wonderful techniques that will hopefully lead me to a path of joy and peace. Had a beautiful homemade pea and mint soup (made by my friend so I know it was wheat and dairy free) I did have a couple of oat-cakes...are they ok? Such a brilliant day and then home to a yummy dinner made by my husband of steak and hom-made chips...FaBULOUS!
Sun:
Naughty breakfast (egg & bacon @ Tesco's!) and was then hungry all day....rubbish! Roast chicken dinner and then home-made apple, cinnamon and peach cobbler (recipe fro everyday paleo) was impressed...OH had a huge dollop of Cornish custard but I had mine naked and it was still ok!
Off to have a bath and meditate now so will sign off. Shattered after being up most of the night with RJ so need to get my 8 hrs in!

Tuesday and I've been baking!
After being totally inspired by a post on the ED Recipe discussion I discovered Elana's Pantry and what a find! An amazing cook who is now a celiac and is devoted to finding delicious wheat and gluten free recipes. A lot of them are also sugar-free so pretty darn perfect for us ED-ers!
So armed with a list as long as my arm I shopped till I dropped this morning and spent a small fortune in Julian Graves, Holland & Barrett and Waitrose and am now stocked up on for some ED baking. Started off with some bran-muffins made with almond flour (that's ground almonds to you and I) flax-seed, dates, olive oil, raisins and seeds. I have never baked before and they are blimmin' lovely! Posted about them on the ED Recipe discussion and was quickly told to watch it as they are full of dried fruit so lots of carbs! This is the first dried fruit I've had since 5th June so I've enjoyed them today (4 to be exact!!!) but will limit myself to one a day after that...don't want to undo all my previous saintly goodness! Just feels v nice to have that sort of texture again. Talking of texture also got some raw crackers today made from brazil nuts which I had for lunch with mashed avocado and Parma ham absolutely amazing! Again the texture is something I've really missed! So I guess I've not been completely ED challenge compliant but not dropped the ball just maybe had more high-carbs than I should have.
Here's my food:
B'fast: smoked salmon and scrambled egg
Lunch: raw cracker, mashed avocado & Parma ham
Dinner: Dax's macadamia crusted salmon, new pots with fresh mint from my garden, steamed carrots & green beans and a new veg I've never tried before called sea-aster..strange taste not for me but my husband liked it.
Snacks: nuts, fruit and of course my v delicious muffins!
Early to bed again tonight, got a busy day tomorrow to look forward to, RJ swim lesson, then lunch and lavender farm with my mum and aunty....lovely!

A decision has been made! After feeling really rather down for the last few days thanks to my rubbish hip/pelvis/back I have decided to stick to ED only for the next couple of weeks and start a new 30 day challenge on July 20th. I just felt that my results would not be anywhere near as good without the exercises and as I can only get one cycle in before my holiday end of Aug I would really like to get the most out of it. This gives me 10 days for my hip to get better and then I can re-start and do the exercises properly from day 1 (hopefully) if my hip is not better then, well I've lost nothing, I'm just doing the same as I would have been doing a few weeks later!
Like many of us on the summer challenge this is all part of a huge life-change and not a short-term fix, I am (mostly ;) enjoying the changes I am feeling thanks to the ED which I have been doing pretty religiously since the middle of May (give or take a few days here and there and on holiday) I've lost about 10lbs and even though I would like to loose at least another 20 more I do realise I have to look after my emotional self too and not getting results from a pretty hard diet is not good for me! Dax posted a really inspirational article today about giving in to excuses and loosing the reason why you're here and it confirmed that I am doing the right thing for now.
I hate not finishing something I've started so I am still on it completely with the food. This injury is beyond frustrating but what can I do? Am off to the Osteopath again tomorrow so hopefully with a few more sessions from her...well just keep your fingers & toes crossed!

Catch-Up
Apologies for not posting a blog the last couple of days, I've been using the day updates to get some support and also been trying to get some early nights in too, anyway here is the mini version of days missed:
Thursday
Went to Osteopath and turns out I've got a twisted pelvis....and believe me it is as horrid as it sounds! Probably caused by child-birth (some 2yrs 4mths ago) and an accident waiting to happen! Tight hip-flexor one side, tight ham-string the other creates an unstable pelvis and my extra exercises have just tipped it over the edge....grrrrrr! I'm so disappointed to have to stop the exercises as was LOVING them but what can I do? Will be back on it as soon as I'm able!
Food wise 2nd Day of the wave, and starting to get sick of eggs and crave something sweet!
B'fast: smoked trout & scrambled egg
Lunch: Parma ham salad and avocado
Tea: prawn on watercress salad
Friday
Last day of wave and sick of eggs! Feel so claggy and just want some fruit! Hip/pelvis/whatever still horrific, from sitting to standing seems to be the most painful and I sometimes end up in physically unable to straighten and will have to walk around like I'm 108! Ill-prepared food-wise so started my day with a mackerel fillet...not my idea of a good b'fast! Lunch was scrambled eggs and smoked salmon (my sons new fave,) dinner was roast chicken leg and tons of steamed broccoli, cauli & leeks (at last something sweet!)
Saturday
I just couldn't wait tp have some fruit again (may have gone a bit mental!) LOVED my fruit and yog salad was so nice to not have eggs but funnily enough at about 12 I started to crave something savoury and ended up having a spring onion, mushroom and pepper omelette with some Parma ham for lunch! This afternoon we went to a friends barby, luckily they had just gotten a huge piece of pork on a spit so I just had green salad, a few potatoes and lots of pork...I did have some crackling though! But I managed to avoid the dips, crisps and booze completely and my halo is practically blinding me!!! A bit disappointed I couldnt stock up on rice or some sort of stodge as I am craving it ..... Will def do that on Wed!
Hip still dreadful especially after standing up for a few hours tonight so just had a long hot bath with some muscle relief bubble bath & sipping my new fave tea (clipper sleep tight tea...smells like Xmas and is gorgeous!) with my husband snoring beside me. Am totally shattered but just wanted to get this done so I'm up to date.
Hope you are all doing good, not looking forward to no carbs again but will battle through! Until tomorrow...

Crappy day...
Hip/back pain has been hideous all day, I was unable to do any of the exercises which has really depressed me! I went to Pilates and had a lovely session but my instructor told me I'm really out of alignment...especially my pelvis and rib-cage so I'm off to see an Osteopath. I'm so disappointed as was enjoying the exercises sooooo much but what can I do? I can't push it, today was really tricky on so many levels, I struggled to pick RJ up, put him in his car-seat, pull the dog on his walk etc.. So I need to get it sorted for purely day-to-day practical reasons let alone the exercises. I'm trying to think positive, although this is a 30 day challenge at the moment it is also a lifestyle change for me so I'll be able to do the exercises when my back gets better, I don't have to stop doing them just because the 30 days is up...with that in mind I must make a note to myself to print off all the workout sheets.
Food started wave-tactic then went to ED as my mum kindly took me out for lunch and I struggled to find anything wave-friendly! Will start again tomorrow..
B'fast: smoked trout, scrambled egg & asparagus
Lunch: chilli-con-carne & wild rice
Dinner: turkey stir-fry
Snacks of Parma ham and nuts.
Was dieing to have some fruit but did not give in...need to get some coconut oil though.
Watching a silly film now whilst sipping a camomile tea then early to bed, hoping to feel better in every way after a good nights sleep.

Day 9.....ouch!
Today I've hurt my back/hip! No idea how or when but it is killing me! No pain this morning during mobility and meltdown but soon after it started and has been bugging me all day! I am typing this in bed in quite a lot of discomfort feeling a little but sorry for myself as am feeling so positive about our new challenges starting tomorrow: The Wave (no carbs for 3 days) and the Pyramid (Dax's latest killer workout) which we will now be rotating with the original meltdowns, ICP and power circuit. Will be gutted if i Can't workout properly as I'm going to grab this new wave challenge and really wanted the exercise to go with it, still I'm learning so much about Dax's technique that I am hoping to keep all the ideas in my life pretty permanently if I can!
Food has been ED all day:
B'fast: fruit, seeds, yog
Lunch: smoked mackerel fillet, avocado & watercress salad ( felt hungry afterwards though s had other half of avocado and some nuts!)
Dinner: free-range organic pork chops roasted with sweet pot, peppers and onion, olive oil and lots of chilli flakes, broccoli and spinach...blimmin lovely!
Other half is away for rest of week so will actually find it easier to do the wave as I only need to worry about RJ and I and he's happy with most things bless him! I'll just make sure he has pots or pasta with the dishes and we will be good to go! Am also going to try and eat with him at 6.00 too so I'm not eating my dinner too late ( I usually wait for my husband to come home so we can eat together)
Ok totally pooped now so will sign off, until tomorrow and my first wave day...

Measurements..wk 2
Not surprisingly after my naughty weekend my weight is up 2lb but my chest and waist have both lost 1" each! All other measurements are exactly the same.
Hopefully nxt week with a more positive attitude and 7 days of angelic eating coupled with 7 days of ridiculous exercise the scales will be my friend too!

Day 8 (my new day 1!)
Today has been the first day I've done 3 out of the 4 Dax workouts and boy is my bum feeling it! The only thing I've missed out is the cardio but since I'm running around after my 2 year old constantly I guess that's the best one to miss out on (plus I read that on one of the discussion threads today too!)
I know some people are really struggling fitting in the 4 workouts but I have to say it fits in brilliantly for me. The meltdown I do first thing whilst RJ is having his milk in front of the telly, the ICP I did whilst he was having his tea, and I've just done the Power circuit in front of the telly just before bed. Hilariously Man Vs Food came on during the circuit which was great as looking at all that revolting greasy yucky junk food actually made me feel sick so I feel even more virtuous now!
Food has been 100% ED
B'fast: orange, apple, nectarine, seeds, cashews, almonds and yogurt
Lunch: jacket potato with butter and salad
Dinner: cold chicken with bubble & squeak stuffed with broccoli, sprouts & green beans.
Another busy day tomorrow so I'll finish my camomile and off to bed...

Day 5-7....busy busy busy
So the past 3 days have been very busy, hence my need to merge them into 1 blog!
Friday I awoke feeling demotivated after jumping on the scales and being back to where I began but after my meltdown I felt so much better! I spent the day at Peppa Pig world with my friend and our gorgeous little boys and we had a blast. I took a picnic which was the only way I could ensure I would stay ED true and it worked! Spicy salmon fillet and a watercress salad for lunch and snacking on nuts and fruit throughout the day...I even managed to avoid the ice cream that everyone else had mid-afternoon! I felt extremely virtuous! On my return my lovely husband was cooking a large steak with some home-made chips..perfect!
Saturday was super-busy too. Up early for meltdown before my Power Plates course...that was hard as the majority of the power plate exercises are squat/lunge based so my thighs got a really good working out! Straight after that I was off to see Take That at Wembley with 5 girls-friends and what a night we had! I have to admit to falling off the wagon and enjoying a drink BUT it would have officially been the end of my original 30days so I refuse to feel bad! The concert was incredible and we had such a great afternoon and evening...just what the dr ordered! We are all so busy with work, travel, kids and hectic schedules that it is so nice to be able to spend quality time with each other rather than a quick text conversation!
We did stay in London last night so we had breakfast out at Giraffe. Turns out it's a great place to go if you're on the ED.... My friend A and I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on wheat-free toast...perfect and a really yummy start to the day. The rest of the day was spent travelling then catching up with RJ. We had a roast chicken dinner and again I fell off the wagon as couldn't resist the bread & butter pudding my husband had bought for him and RJ. I feel ok though. Tomorrow is another day and to be honest I had always said this weekend would be a free pass t celebrate the last 30 days!
So here is my new challenge to myself, I fully intend to get on it tomorrow and will count that as my new Day One (although I'll keep to the Dax days for my blog) Strangely I feel more confident and excited today as opposed to last week. I now know what I'm doing with regards to the workouts and I love love love them! I can not tell you how great it is for me to be able to work-out to that level in my own Lounge with RJ there and not have to panic about child-care.
Camomile tea and bed for me now, I'm pooped from my busy busy weekend!
Until tomorrow...

A sprig of inspiration....day 4 end
Been trying to work-out why I have felt uninspired, frustrated and blurgh and I think I've worked it out.
When I initially started the 30day ED I was doing it purely for health reasons, to feel less sluggish, have more energy and to gain some control over my eating. The fact I lost a few pounds (9.5 so far) was just a pleasant by-product. I felt satisfied with the amounts I was eating, even when I was unable to have lunch a few times so ended up having a banana and some nuts. I had to remind myself to snack every couple of hrs and was really enjoying the food.
Since starting the 30day summer challenge the whole focus has shifted onto weight-loss and body shape and so my focus has once again become driven by those bloody scales and measurements. When I did my measurements on Monday I mentioned that I felt demotivated by it especially as on Sunday I felt great, clothes felt looser etc then on Monday I realised how awful I must still look and the negativity came in like a steam-train and hasn't really left. The confusion re some of the eating has pissed me off too as I'm now feeling like i may have wasted my time not doing a proper detox! I am feeling constantly hungry and although my exercise has definitely shifted up a gear I'm pretty convinced that my hunger is much more emotionally linked than exercise!
Sorry to be such a downer but I felt I had to share. I think I need to relax and enjoy the nxt few days as I have some fab things planned stick to ED and then have a good talking to myself on Sunday!

Day 4 - a little confused...
On the whole today has been a good day.
RJ got a certificate for his swimming...not bad for 2yrs 4mths bless him! Then a busy afternoon. Food has been good I think although this is where the confusion comes in. Got the ED cookbook and made a Thai curry from it on Saturday thinking it was all ok then today someone says we're not allowed coconut milk....er hello? What about the recipe Dax posted yesterday about the Thai salmon? Am v confused and seeing as I had the rest of the Thai curry tonight for tea I might also be eating totally the wrong thing!
Food today:
b'fast: banana, orange blueberries, seeds and nuts, natural yog
Lunch: chicken, broccoli & mushroom omelette
Dinner: Thai green curry, wild and basmati rice
Snacks: nuts and fruit
Have really had a sweet-tooth today and have eaten tons of grapes and I mean tons at one point I found myself cramming them into my mouth whilst I was making RJ's dinner tonight. I need to put them away so I don't just pick them as I walk past.
Exercise wise I wasn't organised enough to do the Dax workouts so I went to the gym instead and did a humdinger work-out. I'll start the Dax regime tomorrow. Setting my alarm for 6.00 so I can start bright & early as I'm off to Peppa Pig world tomorrow and I need to do exercises, make a picnic, take car for MOT all before 9.30...hmmmmm!

Well hello there buttocks....
Today has been a good day on the whole. Had a fabulous 1-1 Pilates Reformer Class. Thankfully we did some stretches as I am still aching after the Monday sessions and my humdinger gym session yesterday...unfortunately we also did lots of inner thigh and bum stuff too which I really felt!
Food wise I've been ok:
B'fast: fruit, seeds, nuts & yog
Lunch: prawn salad & 1/2 avocado
Dinner: spicy salmon, a couple of new pots and a rocket salad
Snacks: fruit & nuts
Found out this evening that Marmite is a big no on the ED and I had put it in my cottage pie last night...I'm pissed off and wish I'd known better but I can't dwell on it.. I'll just have to start again tomorrow.
Did the exercises from Dax and yowser....hello buttocks I'll be in bits again tomorrow I'm pretty sure.
Been thinking that prob one of the (many many) issues I have is eating my dinner so late. I usually end up eating after I put RJ to sleep and tonight I had to do the exercises first so I didn't end up eating till after 9.00....not good!
Anyway my camomile tea has been supped and now it's time to goto bed (before 11 on Dax's orders)

Day Two......What a difference a day makes...
Day 2 and I feel like a different person!
Woken early by RJ I decided to make the most of it and was at the gym when it's doors opened at 6.30 this morning where I had a fantastic work-out! My thighs, still aching from the challenge exercises are now killing me but it feels great ... Am I a sucker for punishment or what?
Food wise I feel pretty good:
B'fast: orange, apple, raspberries, seeds and yog
Lunch: Palma ham, avocado, cucumber & prawns
Dinner: ED friendly cottage pie and spring greens,
Snacks: Cherries & nuts
Still feeling abit hungry in-between meals but I do think it was better than yesterday so fingers crossed its just a bit of tiredness and will go soon.
Camomile tea then off to bed, I've got my Pilates class tomorrow morning which I love but I will be doing the challenge exercises too so I can burn a bit of fat as well, because let's face it I definitely need it!

Day One.....and I'm grumpy!
Well here we are Day one and it's been a bit of a rubbish day!
In my little ideal world, I imagined waking up this morning confident, excited and positive but in reality, after a really crap night with RJ and a maximum of about 4hrs sleep I awoke this morning like a grumpy bear! Couple that with my measurements being shockingly bad I have rather disappointingly started this challenge in a bad mood!
Food wise I've been good:
B'fast: apple, orange, seeds and a small dollop of organic yog
Lunch: 2 poached eggs and some Palma ham
Dinner: Cold pork, salad and 2 new potatoes
But I've felt hungry all day..I'm assuming that's because I've had low energy levels because of the lack of sleep although your mind is a strange thing isn't it and I'm also wandering if I felt hungry because I knew it was day one. I've not given in though and snacked on fruit and nuts although probably more than I was doing last week.
First inspirational e-mail from Dax and I'm in the Blue Team, my friend A is in the red so im expecting a large amount of good-spirited competition. The exercise vids were fab! Deceivingly hard 8 minutes and my thighs are killing me after all those squats but it is so nice to know I'll be able to do some sort of exercise every single day for the next 30 even if I don't make it to the gym. I did it in the garden so god knows what my neighbours thought! The mobility warm-up was lovely too although I had to improvise with a golf brolly as I didn't have a broom handy!
So heres the hideously embarrassing stats:
Weight: 178.4lbs
Chest: 41"
Waist: 36"
Hips: 42"
Thigh (8"): 23.5"
Thigh (4"): 18.5"
Arm: 12"
Revolting isn't it? Not sure measuring is a great motivational tool for me but fingers crossed that will change when the numbers start to go down!
So end of day one and I'm glad it's over, a camomile tea and then bed for me. Tomorrow is another day and I really will wake up feeling strong, confident, well-rested and Positive!
GOOD LUCK to all my fellow challengers!

All about me....
I feel I should share a little about me before we begin, I'm a 38 yr old mum, wife, daughter, sister, friend, colleague oh and actress...I deliberately say it like that as I feel that my hopes, dreams and wants are often forgotten as I get on with my day to day life.
Don't get me wrong my beautiful son RJ is the light of my life and has given me more love and happiness than I ever thought possible but with the exception of a few years just before he was born I do kind of feel my whole life has been putting others first. That is one of the MAJOR reasons for me finding the Dax Moy way of life.
I have been a weight watcher since my early 20's doing relatively well then letting myself off the hook and piling back on the weight, I think I must have lost and re-put-on the same stone and a half at least a dozen times. Exercise wise I'm probably what you call a sporadic exerciser, it comes in fits and starts with me getting really into something then allowing life etc to get in the way and falling off the wagon and back into lazy-bones habits.
I love food, wine & socialising, I just need to learn to do that all in moderation whilst following a very healthy diet the majority of the time. My biggest problem is that I let myself off the hook CONSTANTLY! As soon as I get into those size 14 jeans that I love and my clothes are looking better I think well that will do. Now I know I could continue on like this the rest of my life but I'm pretty bored of "dieting" when I know that is making me unhealthier as I'm having to go for diet options etc to stick to my points which are without a doubt worse for me, my teeth and my overall health!
So a few months back I was chatting to my great friend "A" saying how sluggish and crap I felt when she told me about ED. She sent me the details and I sat on it for a few days afraid to even open the file and when I did I had probably the same reactions as most people: no coffee? No toast? No pasta? what's that all about??? But then when I read on and found out more and opened myself to a possibility of no calorie counting and healthy eating I just couldn't resist and so here I am, as I mentioned in my first blog I've been doing the ED for 21 days and really enjoying it so this challenge seemed my logical next step. I've struggled a few times to keep on it, especially when eating out at lunchtime I find, most cafes are not that ED friendly it's sandwich galore! But I'm now learning to take some fruit and nuts with me just in case and I always have some herbal teas too so I can enjoy a warm drink whilst I'm out and about as I do love a cuppa!
So this is a little about me, I'm about to do my day one exercises so will post my official day one blog after that!

Day One - T minus 3 hrs and counting....
I've just signed up for London Personal Trainer Dax Moy's ED Summer Challenge and I'll be keeping a day by day, blow by blow account of the whole thing.
I'm actually on day 21 of the Elimination Diet and feel fantastic so when I saw this opportunity I grabbed it with both hands. I've allowed myself a treat tonight of a small bowl of Haagen Dazs before the onslaught tomorrow, my first sugar in nearly 3 weeks.
Excited to see just how it will pan out...what team I will be in and the type of competition we will be up against. My lovely friend that introduced me to the wonders of DM...I shall call her "A" has also signed up so I am hoping we can help and support each other what I'm sure will be a tough but extrememely rewarding 30 days....bring it on Dax show me what you got!!
